Northminster Presbyterian Women Annual Retreat
March 22-24, 2019
Illumination! Look. Pause. See.
Spiritual Growth Program led by Linda Morningstar
Come and experience “Aha!” moments, as we learn how to “read” art and see how artists “illuminate” biblical narratives. Find out what to look at when you view a painting, so you can hear what the artist is saying. We’ll read familiar Bible stories and then look at how – over the years – various artists’ portrayals have brought to the fore differing opinions for us to examine.
How does what the artist thinks compare to what we think? How might what the artist portrays enrich what these Bible stories convey about God, about us, and about living a life of faith?
