Session met Monday night and agreed to extend our online-only worship service through at least July 31st.
The Re-Entry Task Force is monitoring cases and trends in Georgia, so that when we gather again, we can do so in a healthy way.
The officers in the church are working hard to re-imagine what church might look like when we get back together, and what steps need to be taken to gather safely. Preparations are underway, including the addition of hand sanitizer stations, upgrading air filtration, and measuring the Sanctuary and other spaces, so we can manage social distancing in each space. Whether we gather together in one month or three, we want to be prepared when that day comes.
The Deacons and Elders are being led in this effort by our Re-Entry Task Force. The task force is tracking public health information, CDC guidelines, recommendations from the Presbytery, and best practices of like organizations. They are coordinating the effort through committees, who will each be responsible for a particular piece of the project. It is a huge undertaking with a lot of moving pieces.
The following people are serving on that task force: Sherri Bozardt, Jan Copeland, Lori Ellwood, Cullen Hackler, John Kludt, Gwynne Mesimer, and Donna Smith.
Please pray for this group. There is a lot of work to do moving forward. We are grateful for their willingness to serve in this way.
