A note from our Coordinating Team Moderator…
Welcome to a new year of PW!
We will kickstart the season with our Fall Gathering at Bambinelli’s Restaurant in the Willow Springs Shopping Center. Kathy has reserved a private area for us on Tuesday, September 3rd at 7:00pm. She will send you additional information. We look forward to seeing you all at the Gathering.
There was a discussion at the last CT Meeting about a possible date change for the Ruth Circle. After a check of the NPC Master Calendar and consulting with other group leaders, the date for Ruth Circle will remain the 3rd Wednesday morning of each month.
As we begin a new PW year, we find that there are still some outstanding pledges for the 2018-2019 year. I’m sure this just an oversight. If possible, can we expect payment before the Pledge Cards for the current year are distributed?
The PW Budget is based on the Pledges you generously make. Thank you!
Finally, we’d love to see PW grow. Your ideas are always welcome. Please consider inviting a friend to join us!

This year we will be completing Horizons Bible Study: Love Carved in Stone: A Fresh Look at the Ten Commandments by Eugenia Anne Gamble
What would it mean to consider the Ten Commandments not as a harsh list of what not to do but, instead, as a “love letter” from a loving God? A fresh embrace of the Ten Commandments (or Words), author Eugenia Gamble suggests, may ultimately contribute to the restoration of ourselves and our communities and the furthering of the gospel in the world. “Moral behavior matters, not simply because immoral actions can anger or disappoint God, but because principled behavior is how love becomes real, both toward God and in community.” Love Carved in Stone is a Bible study that helps us reframe the way we look at and live in the world.
Each lesson begins with an exploration of one of the Ten Words in its biblical context. From there, we consider a moment from Jesus’ life that shows us how he lived out that Word and then consider the Word for our own lives and contexts. We conclude with an invitation to pray with the Word in our circles or study groups and in our personal devotions.
These lessons are always stand alone, and all women are welcome, so please come when you can.
BI-MONTHLY “JOY” lessons: This study group meets every 2 weeks on Wednesday mornings (9:45AM) in Room 139. In September we will meet on the 11th and 25th. We will be studying The Faithful. Borrowing from best-selling studies by Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer, Lisa Harper, Kelly Minter, and Jennifer Rothschild, this 5-session study explores crucial moments in the lives of five Old Testament figures—Esther, Gideon, Malachi, Nehemiah, and Hosea. Through their stories, discover how God uses the lives of ordinary people for His glory and the good of His people. Strengthen your faith as you walk alongside these larger-than-life figures who all chose to obey God no matter the circumstances.
