PW News                                          Aug 2018

Dear (Presbyterian) Women,
Welcome to the 2018-2019 PW year. YOU are invited! Wait- who is invited? ALL sisters inChrist! But, I don’t “belong” to a PW Circle. That’s ok- there is no membership, nothing to join! Gather with us in fellowship, study, and service. Come to a Circle meeting. Try out a JOY Bible study session. Help assemble “Welcome Home Baskets” for Homestretch. Join us at the Fall Gathering. Together we will grow in our faith and nurture our relationships with God and each other. Childcare always available by RSVP. I look forward to seeing you!      Blessings,Nicole ([email protected])

Bible Studies:

Rebekah and Ruth Circles:

Join us for monthly fellowship and study the thirdTuesday evening (7:00PM) or Wednesday morning (9:45AM). We will be taking a journey through scripture to consider circumstances in which God articulated God’s promise of presence, using the Horizon Bible study guide, God’s Promise: I am with you by Amy Poling Sutherlun.  This year- long study, does not delve deeply into manifestations of God’s presence- the tabernacle, the ark of the covenant, manna, the Temple, pillars of cloud and fire – but rather on God’s actual articulation of God’s promise. During these 9 lessons we will discover how God’s promise speaks to our circumstances, as individuals and as a community.  Study books are $10 and are available in the church office.

The Rebekah circle will meet at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 14th and the Ruth circle will meet at 9:45 AM on Wednesday, August 15th. This first lesson, God with UsWherever We Are, discusses that God’s promise to be with us allows us to consider the surprising and powerful intimacy of God’s willingness to be with us in all circumstances. Genesis 26:1-6; 28:10-22.

It’s almost time to gather with our sister’s in Christ to study God’s Word in the intimate setting of our church’s Fireside Room!  As we are using the same study, feel free to join us at either meeting, which are held from Aug through May.  So, please plan to share this inspirational time with us each month.                          Claudia ([email protected])and Semmes ([email protected])

JOY (Jesus Others Yourself):

This study group meets every 2 weeks on Wednesday mornings (9:45AM) in Room 139.  We will be studying Twelve Women of the Bible, by Lysa TerKuerst, Elisa Morgan, Jeanne Stevens.  These leaders will look at the spiritual lessons learned from twelve biblical women and what they mean for your life today.  You’ll discover lessons that will help you persevere through the circumstances you are facing today.
