Our Story
Since 1981, Northminster Presbyterian Church (NPC) has welcomed neighbors into our buildings, grounds, activities, and hearts. We are diligent in our service to God, neighbors, and members. Worshipping God, Sharing God’s love in this world, and Serving God’s people is always our goal.
Our current church building was built in 3 phases; the first phase was dedicated in June 1984, and the third phase was completed in December 1998. In the fall of 1985, Northminster opened its popular preschool Northminster Day School, which provides a nurturing Christian learning environment where children can explore, can learn, and can play as they learn about the world around them. Also, Ebenezer Brazilian Presbyterian Church has nested in our building since the early 2000s.
Our missions have been chosen with this verse in mind: “… and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8b).” Over the years, Northminster has participated in local (Roswell and the Atlanta area), national and international mission projects.
We have supported many local, national, and international charities in the past and are currently supporting Esther Jackson Elementary Community Foundation, Family Promise, Kids Hope USA, Little Free Pantry, Mercy Community Church, Operation Paperback, Project GRANDD, Sandwich Project, Solidarity Sandy Springs, and Welcome Home Chattanooga (learn more about our Mission team). After Hurricanes Katrina and Maria, Northminster organized multiple mission trips to Slidell, Louisiana, and to Puerto Rico. We have had intergenerational trips to Honduras and Puerto Rico. Northminster and Ebenezer church members have traveled together on many Brazil mission trips serving on a medical mission boat on the Amazon River.
Northminster also considers our ministry to each other very important and having events that all ages can enjoy. Multi-generational activities have included Hunger Walks, Rise Against Hunger events, All Church Weekend and weekend mission trips. Each of our deacons keep in touch with and care for a small group of church members. Prayer Vine emails, weekly News You Can Use, and Realm are also ways that we keep in touch. Also, NPC live-streams almost all worship services and has Facebook and Instagram presences.
We are glad that you are here!
