We are excited to continue our partnership with Kids Hope USA in support of Northwood Elementary School. Through this program, we have developed life-changing relationships with 14 children in our community and are so thankful for our wonderful mentors who share their time each week.
Through the Kids Hope program, mentors are matched with a child who could benefit from having another loving, caring adult in their life. Mentors and students meet for one hour each week throughout the school year– focusing on the child’s emotional, social, and academic needs. The Kids Hope Hour at the school often includes playing games, helping with school work, coloring, reading, listening, and just showing the child that you care. One child, one hour, one church, one school; working in partnership to make a positive change in the lives of children in our community.
As we begin the 2019-2020 school year, we would like to continue to grow the program and reach even more students. If you are interested in learning more about becoming a mentor, and building a one-on-one relationship with a child in need, please contact Lisa Hubbert ([email protected] or 770-309-3481) to find out more.
