Session met Monday night, July 20th, and agreed to extend our on-line only worship service through at least November of this year. The hope is that we will be able to gather in person for the first Sunday in Advent (November 29th).
This date is fluid, as everything seems to be these days. While we won’t be gathering in person for worship, we are looking for other ways we might be able to gather in smaller groups. We want to do so in a way that offers community and keeps people healthy, following CDC guidelines, social distancing, mask-wearing and other applicable protocols.
The Re-Entry Task Force continues to monitor cases and trends in Georgia, so that when we gather again for worship, we can do so in a healthy way. Many volunteers are already working on processes and procuring equipment and supplies for that day. Please pray for this group. There is a lot of work to do moving forward. We are grateful for their willingness to serve in this way.
And please pray for us as a congregation. We can still be the church for our community in this time. But it does call for imagination and innovation. May God be with us as we travel through this season.
