Why did the Mission and Worship Teams choose to incorporate Little Free Pantry food collection into NPC’s Communion Service?
- LFP Collections already occur on 1st Sunday of each month.
- We come to the communion table to be fed, and the table is open to all.
- Why not help feed others at the same time? Jesus instructed us that our care for “the least of these” is, in fact, an expression of our service to Him (Matthew 25:40).
- Bags of food are tangible evidence of our desire to serve and to help. Bringing a filled Yellow Bag is not necessary to receive communion. Never. Ever. We invite each of you to be fed and to help feed others.
If you desire, fill a Yellow Bag, bring it to church on Communion Sundays, and then carry the filled Yellow Bag forward to place in bins during communion.
