Music

“Worship the Lord with gladness, come before him with joyful songs.”
-Psalm 100:2

Directed by Rick Gomez, Northminster’s Music Department has four fulfilling ways to participate in musical worship on Sunday mornings. Participants learn useful musical techniques while contributing to worship services. Here are the opportunities for you and your family to use your talent in praise of God.

The Handbell Choir

Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 6:45-7:30pm

This is an adult Handbell choir for those who can read music at an intermediate level or above. The group plays approximately once per month in Sunday worship. Directed by Rick Gomez.

The Intergenerational Handbell Choir

Rehearsals: Sundays after the 10:30am worship service

Directed by Suzanne Holton, this group is for any age level and ideal for beginners. You will learn the fundamentals of sight reading and handbell ringing techniques. This group plays in Sunday worship upon mastering a piece of music.

The Chancel Choir

Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 7:30-8:15pm

This adult choir sings in Sunday worship approximately once per month. Sight reading ability, while useful, is not necessary. If you have a voice and a desire to worship through song, join us! If you cannot join us on Wednesday evenings for rehearsal, please feel free to robe up on Sunday mornings, join us in the choir loft, and help provide hymn support.

The NPC Band

Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 8:15-9:00pm

If you are an adult who plays guitar, ukulele, bass, percussion, and/or sing, and have the ability to read music charts, this contemporary music group is for you. The group plays in Sunday worship approximately once per month.
