The Music Department at Northminster is an all-inclusive, full-graded choir program for 3-year-olds through adults. Participants learn useful musical techniques while contributing to worship services. The following are opportunities for you and your family to use their talent in devotion and praise to God:
The adult music program is an integral part of worship at Northminster each Sunday and special occasions.
HANDBELL CHOIR: Directed by Charlie Boone, the handbell choir is open to any Youth or Adult who can attend rehearsal on a REGULAR basis. No experience is necessary; we will teach you everything you need to know. Rehearsal time is 7:30-8:30pm each Wednesday evening.
ADULT CHOIR: The adult choir is an integral part of worship at Northminster each Sunday and special occasions. Rehearsals run from August to Mid-June and are at 9:45 to 11:00am on Sunday mornings with director Charlie Boone in the Sanctuary choir loft. The group enjoys the fellowship of retreats to North Carolina and fun and games at Christmas. New singers are always welcome. Come, join us.
Children and Youth Music
The Children's Music program runs mid-September through the end of May with a short break during January. It offers a full-graded choir program of learning music and sharing what they've learned with their church family.
Pre-Schoolers through 5th Graders engage in music time during the Sunday School hour. They are led by Dr. Mary Louise Wilson and Kat Ballou.
The Youth Choir program runs from mid-September through the end of May with a short break in January. Our 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders meet with Charlie Boone, Director, in the Sanctuary choir loft on Sundays from 5:00-6:00pm. The choir members work on vocal techniques, score reading, and singing in parts. The Youth Choir is one of the highlights of the Music Program at Northminster.
